About the jobedenity. have partnered up with an exceptional client on a mission to redefine identity for the global economy. Together, we're searching for an outstanding DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing team and take end-to-end ownership of one of the most important things in their business: security. When you sit at the heart of how banks and fintechs onboard their customers, security isn't a feature. It's the product. It's a burning issue, and they've cracked the hard part already. Our client sees their company itself as a second product, continually evolving to create a transparent, ambitious culture where people can do their best work. They're backed by world-class investors including CapitalG and Index Ventures, alongside founders and executives from companies such as Stripe, Adyen, Notion, Remote, Qonto, Framer, Anthropic, Mollie, OpenAI, and Goldman Sachs. Growing fast, they're now moving into traditional financial institutions, actual banks, and they're looking to bring their first dedicated security engineer on board. The seat you'd own:The platform is already built to scale. It's horizontally scalable, running on Kubernetes, Postgres and Redis on AWS, deliberately avoiding proprietary services in favour of open source. It could handle 10x or 100x today's load without major changes. What's changing is who they sell to. Traditional banks don't run on trust; they send auditors, and they want to see the security dashboard. Today security is handled by a strong team of builders whose deep expertise lies elsewhere, which is exactly why this hire exists. This is the first line of defence: someone on the ground implementing and enforcing security, not producing documents that nobody acts on. The ceiling here is set by whoever takes it on, and this seat can grow into the company's future security leadership. What You'll Be Doing:Own security end to end. Take full ownership of how the company protects itself and its customers, from tooling to process to culture.Fix the supply chain. Build systematic vulnerability management across the open source packages and third parties they deploy, so every scan alert is tracked, triaged and resolved within severity SLAs, some within three days.Make audits boring. Create the paper trail that lets a SOC 2 auditor see exactly when a vulnerability was received, acknowledged and fixed, down to the PR that shipped the upgrade.Build vendor management. Design both the process and the technical implementation for reviewing every new third party, with a clear audit trail behind each one.Handle what comes in. Own Security Hub alerting and investigations, and turn responsible disclosure reports from a ticket backlog into a proper triage and response process.Be the voice in the room. Sit with customers' security teams on RFPs and audits, explain how the platform works, push back on the wrong requirements, and work with engineering to implement the right ones.Stay hands-on. Security won't take every hour of the week, so you'll also contribute to DevOps work alongside the platform team. What We're Looking For:A security engineer with a genuine DevOps background. You implement and enforce; you don't just document. This is the spike that matters most here.Hands-on infrastructure experience. You're comfortable with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure and CI/CD. You'll work on AWS, but you don't need to be an AWS specialist, because there's no AWS magic here.Compliance fluency without the bureaucracy. Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR or similar, ideally in fintech or other regulated environments. You know what an auditor needs, and you know how to build it rather than write about it.Pragmatism. You can keep an enterprise customer happy and still say no to an unrealistic requirement. You're not an enterprise architect; you're a builder who can act fast. The seniority to run it yourself. Senior or Staff level, able to land running and own security independently from day one.A real love of security. You find threat models, vulnerabilities and defences genuinely interesting, and you want to shape how a company takes security seriously as it scales. The Culture:People. Our client believes a business becomes the people it hires. Talent density is central to what they do. They have allocated a significant portion of their initial equity pool to attract exceptional talent, and they are relentlessly focused on finding the right people. Culture. They know the best people can work anywhere, but few places enable them to do their best work. Their goal is to be that place, built on real ownership, radical trust, full transparency and moving fast. Fewer layers, more clarity. Ambition. Their ambitions are nothing short of grand. They believe in the magic of progress over perfection. Some parts shine, some still need polish. Solving complex problems is a long-term exercise, and they want you to help shape this journey. Ethical by design. They believe the best companies serve more than just shareholders. A significant portion of equity has been allocated to a non-profit foundation, making it one of their largest shareholders. Long-term success, in their view, means optimising returns for all stakeholders. As the business grows, so should its positive impact on the planet and its people. Why Join?🛠️ Tackle challenging problems. Defend a programmable, secure and shareable identity layer that banks and fintechs rely on to know who they're doing business with. 👷️ Collaborate in a small elite team. Join a tight-knit group of Europe's best engineers who take ownership, move fast and care deeply about inclusivity and diversity. 🌳 Work for a mission that matters. Contribute to software that serves society; a significant share of the company's equity is held by a non-profit foundation. 🌐 Fully remote by default. Choose where and when you work. Highly driven people don't need rules to get great work done. 🕦 Shape your own hours. Break up your day however you see fit. Surf after lunch, catch up later; we embrace a non-linear workday. 🌏 Equal pay worldwide. Receive the same competitive and transparent salary regardless of your location. Equal work, equal compensation. 💶 Solid salary. You'll earn well (though we hope your passion for the mission comes first). 🚀 Market-leading equity.
