Director of International Expansion

Kultakiertue is the market leader and pioneer in the purchasing and evaluation of precious metals, especially gold and silver. More than 100 professionals work within our unique service concept, and we are now expanding fast across Europe. To support that growth, we are looking for a Director of International Expansion to take ownership of this process and see it through.

We are looking for an experienced Director of International Expansion to join our leadership team in Helsinki.

Role Description

This role sits on the leadership team and covers the full scope of our international expansion: launching new markets, scaling up existing ones, managing country managers, and clearing the operational and regulatory blockers that come with moving fast across multiple jurisdictions.

Speed matters here. You will deal with regulators, local subcontractors, authorities in individual municipalities, and grocery store chains whose parking lots we want to operate from. Some of that you will handle yourself. Most of it you will direct through the people who work with you.

You will report directly to the CEO and work alongside the leadership team.

Your Key Responsibilities

Leading the launch of new European markets, from regulatory groundwork through to operational go-liveManaging and developing a team of country managers, ensuring each market can operate profitably and growRunning the weekly expansion leadership meetings: identifying blockers across markets and driving solutionsCoordinating with external legal counsel across multiple countries on regulatory approvals and licensingScaling up performance in existing markets: working with country teams to improve unit economics and resolve local authority issuesLeading negotiations with local partners, including grocery chains and property networks where neededMonitoring market developments to stay ahead of competitors in each geographyReporting progress and performance to the CEO and leadership team

What We Expect From You

Experience leading international expansion at a B2C company with a physical operational footprint: mobility, logistics, food delivery, or similar fast-scaling consumer businessesExperience managing country managers or regional teams across multiple markets at onceThe ability to move between strategic direction and operational detail. You can run a meeting on country P&L in the morning and unblock a municipal licensing issue in the afternoonCommercial instincts strong enough to spot partnership opportunities and oversee local negotiations, without needing to be in the room for every oneComfort making fast decisions with incomplete informationFinnish and English fluency, with additional European languages a plusYou will need to be based in Helsinki. The role is hybrid but office-oriented.A background in law, or meaningful exposure to complex regulatory processes through your operational work, is a significant advantage. Regulatory work sits at the center of this role, and that kind of experience will set you apart.
