Global IS License Manager Location: Sweden/ Remote EUContract: Freelance Contract Job SummaryLooking for an experienced Global IS License Manager to establish and drive a global License Management capability within the Vendor and License Management function. The ideal candidate will define the Software Asset Management (SAM) strategy, governance framework and operating model, while leading operational execution across license optimisation, compliance and audits, vendor management and cross-functional support. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the global License Management strategy, governance framework, policies, controls and processes.Lead the end-to-end software license lifecycle: entitlements and usage, demand, renewals and optimisation, compliance and audit readiness, reconciliation and remediation.Manage relationships with software vendors and support renewals, commercial discussions and interpretation of licensing terms, with Sourcing, Legal and Vendor Management.Own the quality and effective use of License Management tools and data, including ServiceNow SAM Pro or equivalent platforms.Partner with Sourcing, Legal, Finance and business stakeholders to embed license management practices across the organisation.Develop licensing strategies aligned with business goals, supporting reporting, monitoring and regulatory developments.Support software publishers and vendors during licensing reviews, negotiations and audits.Lead and develop the License Management function, including coaching and performance management.Drive continuous improvement and automation of License Management processes. Required Skills & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent experience.7+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management (ITAM), software licensing or IT vendor management, in a global or multinational environment.Strong knowledge of software licensing models, license optimisation, compliance and vendor audits.Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro or a comparable SAM platform.Experience working with software publishers and complex enterprise licensing models.Strong understanding of licensing governance, compliance and commercial management.Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.Ability to operate across global, cross-functional and multicultural environments.Advantageous: CSAM, ServiceNow CIS-SAM/ITAM or relevant vendor licensing certifications.
