Operational Excellence Manager

PMO & Operational Excellence Project Manager Sector: Pharmaceutical / Biotech We are currently supporting a leading biopharmaceutical organisation with the appointment of a PMO & Operational Excellence Project Manager to join their Safety organisation.This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive PMO professional who enjoys improving the way teams work, rather than simply maintaining existing processes.The organisation has a portfolio of approximately 55 projects managed through Planisware and is looking for someone who can bring greater structure, efficiency and modernisation to the way projects and operational processes are managed. The RoleYou will combine PMO, project portfolio management and continuous improvement, working closely with stakeholders across the organisation.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting the management and governance of a portfolio of approximately 55 projects using PlaniswareReviewing existing PMO and operational processes and identifying opportunities to improve, simplify and automateChallenging unnecessary trackers and manual processes and introducing more efficient ways of workingDeveloping and improving reporting and dashboards using Power BI and ExcelSupporting process automation, ideally using Power AutomateTaking ownership of workstreams and initiatives that may initially be loosely definedDriving continuous improvement and operational excellence initiativesSupporting change management and helping stakeholders adopt improved processesImproving project governance, milestone management, commitments and delivery against agreed datesCommunicating effectively across the organisation and helping stakeholders understand the role and activities of the Safety functionWorking closely with senior stakeholders and confidently challenging existing ways of working where appropriate About YouWe are looking for someone who is proactive, confident and comfortable operating in an environment where not everything is already defined.You will ideally bring:Strong PMO, portfolio or project management experienceExperience working with Planisware or a comparable project portfolio management systemA strong continuous improvement / operational excellence mindsetExperience with process redesign, optimisation or automationStrong stakeholder and change management skillsExcellent Excel capabilityExperience with Power BI and ideally Power AutomateGood understanding of Waterfall project management and governanceThe confidence to work with and influence senior stakeholdersA pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the ability to identify opportunities to modernise existing ways of working Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech or another regulated environment would be advantageous.Previous experience within Safety / Pharmacovigilance is helpful but not essential.Why this opportunity?
