Platform Engineer

Title: Platform Engineer (GCP, Terraform, Python/FastAPI)Location: 100% Remote (International)Type: Contract / Full-time Engagement Role Summary: We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join an international team to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role blends software engineering with infrastructure automation, cloud architecture, and modern platform engineering best practices. Key Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable platform services and GCP infrastructure using Terraform (IaC).Develop platform microservices, tooling, and APIs using Python and FastAPI.Build and manage automated CI/CD deployment pipelines utilizing GitHub Actions.Administer, optimize, and integrate PostgreSQL database environments.Drive platform automation, observability, IAM security policies, and cost governance across GCP services (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Dataplex).Improve developer velocity by providing robust, self-service platform capabilities. Required Qualifications: Senior experience as a Platform Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer (SRE).Hands-on proficiency with Python and FastAPI (or similar backend frameworks).Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Terraform.Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL administration, query optimization, and performance tuning.Experience building end-to-end CI/CD workflows with GitHub Actions. Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills: Experience operating applications on Kubernetes (GKE).Exposure to data governance and metadata tools (e.g., OpenMetadata).Familiarity with GCP networking (Load Balancers, IAP, DNS, TLS/SSL).
