Senior Avionics Systems Engineer

Job Title: Senior Avionics Systems EngineerLocation: Abu Dhabi (UAE) Job Purpose: A leading aerospace and propulsion technology company is seeking a Senior Avionics Systems Engineer to develop subsystem architecture and manage system requirements across software, hardware, and control domains. This role will derive and allocate requirements from high-level system needs, manage system interfaces (ICDs), lead system-level integration and verification activities, and support the establishment of ARP4754A-compliant systems engineering processes, working in close coordination with software, hardware, control, test, and certification teams. Key Responsibilities: Develop subsystem architecture based on high-level system requirementsDerive system requirements from high-level requirementsAllocate system requirements to software, hardware, and control domainsManage system interfaces (ICDs) between software, hardware, control, and other engineering teamsProvide necessary technical inputs to software, hardware, and control teamsCoordinate the lifecycle activities related to writing, verifying, and validating system requirementsPerform system-level integration and verification activitiesSupport safety assessment activities and derived requirements managementSupport the establishment and execution of systems engineering processes compliant with ARP4754AMaintain requirements traceability across system, hardware, software, and control levelsPrepare and maintain systems engineering documentationWork in coordination with software, hardware, control, test, and certification teams Required Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Electrical/Electronics, Control, Software Engineering, or a related fieldExperience in avionics system development and system integrationKnowledge and experience in avionics system architectureKnowledge of systems engineering design processes and related lifecycle activitiesKnowledge and experience in ARP4754A processesExperience in requirements engineering (capture, derivation, and traceability)Knowledge of communication interfaces such as RS-232/422/485, CAN bus, ARINC 429, ARINC 664, ARINC 825, and MIL-STD-1553Experience with configuration, change, and requirements management tools such as SVN, DOORS, etc. Advantageous: Familiarity with safety assessment processes (ARP4761, FHA/PSSA/SSA)Familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254 within the system development context N.B This role is based in Abu Dhabi.
