Senior Data Engineer

The organization strives to be the preferred partner for AI-driven initiatives by maintaining a relentless focus on quality and excellence Role Description: We are looking for someone who brings the technical skills but also has the interpersonal know-how to handle stakeholder management and complex conversations.The consultant are expected to assist customer in- Building, improving, and maintaining ingestion/transformation pipelines in SQL/Python (BigQuery, dbt, Databricks), including ad-hoc analytics- Managing, reviewing, and improving processes from coding to infrastructure- Creating and implementing data engineering standards from ingestion to transformation, data quality and data contracts- Reviewing data models, data contracts, and data mappings for alignment with governance standards- Presenting data product, data quality and governance standards, and insights to stakeholders- Close collaboration with product, software engineering, and other data roles to improve data engineering practices, advocate data product principles, and resolve misunderstandings Qualifications- Strong data engineering fundamentals, incl but not limited to writing pipelines in dbt and Python and production-grade code on cloud platforms (GCP preferred), CI/CD, IaC, containerisation- Hands-on experience with BigQuery and Databricks/PySpark (at least one is required, but preference will be given to those with both)- Ability to review and improve processes by introducing new ways of e.g. coding, reviewing, testing through smart (not sloppy!) use of AI- Basics in data visualisation (ideally Data Studio, PowerBI would be a big plus)- Experience with data quality frameworks: defining rules, writing tests, investigating failures- Knowledge of data structures: data models, databases, data warehousing, and how data flows across systems- Experience with customer data in general (profile data, events such as purchases and interactions) is a strong plus- Experience with classifications and unified profile data products is a strong plus- Knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data cataloguing best practices is a plus Share a short motivation that reflect your assignment description and how you meet the requirements.
