Chief Risk Officer

Nortyx Oy is a Finnish FinTech company building a regulated crypto-asset exchange for retail customers. We are based in Helsinki and are in the process of applying to the Finnish Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) for authorisation as a crypto-asset service provider (CASP) under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). As we prepare for authorisation and launch, we are hiring a Risk Officer to establish and lead our independent risk management function. The Risk Officer is a full-time senior management position and a key function holder, based in Helsinki. Working in the second line of defence, you will lead the Risk Team and the Company's Risk Management Function, giving independent oversight of risk across all our activities. As a key function holder, the appointment is subject to the Company's suitability assessment and to prior fit-and-proper acceptance by FIN-FSA, in line with MiCA regulation. Who we are looking for:A person of good repute, fit and proper to hold a key control function in a regulated financial institution, with no criminal record, financial misconduct, sanctions history or any connection to money laundering or terrorist financing.Solid professional experience in risk management within regulated financial services, fintech, payments or crypto, ideally including building or running a second-line risk function.Strong knowledge of risk management across market, credit, liquidity, operational and ICT risk, together with the MiCA framework and the crypto-asset sector, prudential requirements, AML/CFT and sanctions, DORA and outsourcing.A degree in a relevant field such as finance, economics, law, accounting, quantitative methods or information technology, or equivalent knowledge evidenced by professional experience and qualifications.Based in Helsinki and available full-time. Fluency in English is required; Finnish and familiarity with the Finnish financial market are a strong advantage.
