Cyber Security – EU Region Location: European Union Work Arrangement: Remote We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for a Cyber Security role focused on protecting digital infrastructure, applications, networks, systems, and data against evolving cyber threats. Key ResponsibilitiesMonitor security systems, networks, applications, and infrastructure for potential threats and vulnerabilities.Identify, investigate, and respond to security incidents and suspicious activities.Conduct vulnerability assessments and support remediation of identified security weaknesses.Implement and maintain security controls across networks, endpoints, applications, and cloud environments.Analyse security alerts, logs, and events to identify potential threats and unusual activity.Support incident response, investigation, containment, and recovery activities.Perform security assessments and risk analysis across technology environments.Assist with penetration testing and security testing activities where required.Develop and maintain security policies, procedures, standards, and technical documentation.Support identity and access management processes, including authentication, authorisation, and access reviews.Implement security monitoring and threat detection capabilities across enterprise environments.Collaborate with IT, Cloud, DevOps, Software Engineering, and infrastructure teams to integrate security into technology solutions.Support secure configuration and hardening of operating systems, network devices, applications, and cloud resources.Analyse emerging cyber threats and recommend appropriate security measures.Assist with security audits, compliance assessments, and remediation activities.Support data protection and security controls aligned with organisational policies and applicable regulations.Participate in security awareness initiatives and promote secure technology practices across teams.Maintain accurate records of security incidents, vulnerabilities, risks, and remediation activities.Contribute to security automation and process improvements.Stay informed about emerging attack techniques, vulnerabilities, security technologies, and industry best practices. Required Qualifications and SkillsDegree or equivalent qualification in Cyber Security, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Strong understanding of cyber security principles, security architecture, and risk management.Knowledge of network security concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and common network protocols.Understanding of common cyber threats, attack vectors, vulnerabilities, and mitigation techniques.Experience with security monitoring, logging, and incident detection concepts.Knowledge of vulnerability assessment and security testing methodologies.Understanding of identity and access management principles.Familiarity with endpoint, network, application, and cloud security concepts.Strong analytical, investigation, and problem-solving skills.Ability to analyse security logs, alerts, and technical information.Strong understanding of security best practices and secure configuration principles.Excellent communication and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams. Preferred SkillsExperience with SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, IBM QRadar, or similar technologies.Familiarity with Security Operations Centre environments and security monitoring processes.Experience with vulnerability management tools such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar platforms.Knowledge of endpoint detection and response solutions such as Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, or similar technologies.Experience with cloud security across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or similar frameworks.Understanding of GDPR and European data protection requirements.Familiarity with penetration testing tools and methodologies.Knowledge of web application security and OWASP security principles.Experience with network security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and secure network architectures.Familiarity with threat intelligence platforms and threat modelling methodologies.Knowledge of digital forensics and incident response practices.Experience with security automation and scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.Familiarity with DevSecOps and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.Knowledge of application security, API security, and secure software development practices.Experience with cloud-native security tools and container security.Familiarity with encryption, key management, certificates, and cryptographic concepts.Knowledge of risk assessment, security audits, and compliance processes.Relevant professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CySA+, CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent are advantageous.
