Founding Engineer

Edison Smart is proud to partner with a fast-growing platform who is building a new financial layer - accounts, payments, cards, FX, and multi-currency infrastructure on top of their existing customer base. The RoleBuild the platform from zero, working directly with the founders - owning architecture, integrating sponsor banks and infra providers, and driving product and backend end-to-end, including onboarding & KYC/KYB, accounts & transactions, payments (ACH/wires/cross-border), card issuing, FX & multi-currency, ledger & reconciliation, payment state machines (retries, idempotency, webhooks), and risk & compliance tooling. Looking ForStrong backend/full-stack engineer, ideally 4–10 yrs (ability over years)Proven 0→1 experience building production systemsStrong on distributed systems, APIs, async workflows, reliabilityComfortable owning architecture, not just executionThrives in ambiguity with high ownership Background at a neobank, payments company, BaaS/sponsor-bank provider, or early-stage fintech.
