About usNinepine Group is a Swedish DTC fashion company with two brands: Ninepine (womenswear) and Nothings Something (menswear). We started online and are now moving into omnichannel with our own stores, consignment and wholesale. The group currently consists of six companies across four countries, and we sell to customers in considerably more markets than that. We are building out the finance function. Accounting and consolidation are moving in-house and the system stack is being rebuilt. About the roleYou own accounting across the group. You report to the COO/CFO and work closely with our Finance Lead, who owns the data and systems side. This is an operational role. You will build the structure and sit in the books at the same time, particularly during the transition. The hard part is not transaction volume. It is getting revenue, COGS and intercompany flows right when several legal entities sell through the same Shopify, when revenue can come from e-com, retail, concession or wholesale, and when returns, gift cards and currencies all need to land in the right period and the right company. What you will doOwn day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations and closing for the Swedish entities, and quality assure the accounting in the foreign entities together with local firmsOwn monthly, quarterly and annual closing, plus group consolidationBuild revenue recognition that holds up: accruing returns to the order month, handling gift cards, reconciling Shopify against ERP and the ledger, and splitting revenue correctly across entity and channelOwn inventory and COGS accounting: valuation, goods receipts, landed cost including freight and duty, obsolescence, and tying stock in the ledger to physical counts. Run transfer pricing in practice: intercompany invoicing, markups, true-ups, reconciliation of intercompany balances, and the underlying documentationOwn VAT and tax reporting across several countries, including foreign VAT registrations, OSS, VOEC and import/exportOwn payroll accounting and the relationship with our payroll provider: approving runs, booking and reconciling payroll, employer reporting, and vacation and bonus accrualsMake sure the numbers reported to management, the board and the bank tie to the ledgerBe the counterpart to auditors, accounting firms, tax advisors and authoritiesSet the accounting requirements for our systems work: how postings should land, what has to reconcile, and what gets signed off before a change goes liveSet internal controls, chart of accounts, routines and documentation so the function works when more people join it What we requireSeveral years in a senior accounting role, as Head of Accounting, Accounting Manager or equivalentE-commerce experience. You have worked with Shopify or a comparable platform and understand what actually happens between the order flow and the general ledgerExperience from multi-entity, multi-country groups, including consolidation, eliminations and intercompany transactionsHands-on transfer pricing experience in day-to-day work, not only at policy levelExperience where customs and transfer pricing meet. You have worked with intercompany sales across customs borders and understand how the price between entities affects duty and the result in each company. Import VAT, DDP terms and commercial invoices are familiar groundStrong knowledge of Swedish accounting (K3), VAT and tax, and comfort with VAT in multiple countriesExperience from inventory-heavy businesses and a solid grasp of COGS, margins and inventory valuationFluent Swedish and English, written and spoken Who you areWe are looking for someone calm, precise and structured. We change direction often, and we need someone who keeps the accounting steady when we do. You have no ego about the work and do what needs doing, from reconciling an account to specifying requirements for a system change. You speak up when something is wrong, including when it is uncomfortable, and you get to the bottom of variances instead of booking them away. You are pragmatic about systems. We buy the right tool where it matters, but plenty of what needs fixing gets fixed with a spreadsheet, a script or a workaround that holds until the proper solution is worth building. We want someone who finds the cheapest thing that works, and who knows when a workaround has outlived its usefulness.
