Imaging Research/Engineer
This role involves working closely with multiple discipline colleagues within the team and camera technology innovation laboratory, including imaging algorithms, AI, camera sensor HW, and coloUr and spectral experts. This will include learning from and working with world class leading competence on mobile imaging sensors, spectral sensing and emerging novel photon capturing solutions. You will develop related image and video processing algorithms, help define problems, agree on clear performance metrics, and deliver solutions that perform reliably on real-world data. Job Descriptions:Implement new algorithms to push the boundaries of the mobile imaging technologiesDevelop prototypes and demonstrate SPAD-sensor based imaging conceptsDesign and develop cutting-edge ISP pipeline algorithms and AI algorithms for video and imaging processingIdentify potential collaborations with other research units inside and outside of Huawei. Possibility to contribute to the publications in external collaboration projectsStay on top of the latest algorithms and SPAD based imaging technology by proactively exploring the latest and greatest in the fieldGenerating IP, including patentsQualifications and detailed requirements:PhD or MSc aiming towards PhD in computer vision, machine learning, signal/image processing, or other relevant fieldsDeep understanding on camera sensors, image processing algorithms and AI algorithms. Knowledge on SPAD sensors and SPAD specific data processingExperience with training and evaluation of Deep Learning architectures (based on CNNs, transformers, SNNs etc.) in critical real-world scenariosFamiliarity with Computer Vision tasks such as Denoising, Super-resolution, interpolation, image to image translation, etc.Knowledge and interest in mobile camera development and photography in generalStrong competency in PythonBig advantage for contestants from international competitions in computer science, mathematics, or physics (e.g. IOI, IMO, ICPC, IPhO, IChO) Other Relevant Skills:Fluent in English, both written and spokenGood communication skills to brainstorm new ideas with a team and to report research findings and results clearlyCurious and persistent mindset for tackling tough problems and learn fast practical mobile imaging related challenges and existing solutionsEnergetic and a team player
