In-House International Tax Counsel
Remote within Europe | Full-time | B2BAbout the CompanyOur client is an international fintech group providing technology and liquidity solutions to brokers, financial institutions, and digital asset businesses.The group operates through regulated and non-regulated entities across multiple jurisdictions.About the RoleOur client is looking for an experienced International Tax Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team and support international tax matters across the group.Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, you will work closely with finance, legal, compliance, senior management, and external tax advisers. The role combines international tax advisory, transfer pricing, VAT, corporate tax oversight, and support with cross-border structuring.This position would suit someone with strong international tax expertise who is ready to take broader in-house responsibility in a lean international environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess international tax risks across multiple jurisdictions.Support transfer pricing documentation and intercompany agreements.Advise on technology licensing, management fees, treasury arrangements, and other intragroup transactions.Provide guidance on VAT and indirect tax matters across the EU, UK, UAE, and other relevant jurisdictions.Advise on withholding tax, treaty relief, holding structures, and profit repatriation.Coordinate corporate tax compliance with local finance teams and external advisers.Support restructurings, new market entries, partnerships, and new business models.Monitor relevant developments, including BEPS, Pillar Two, DAC6, and FATCA/CRS.Prepare clear tax recommendations and briefings for internal stakeholders.Candidate RequirementsQualified lawyer, Chartered Tax Adviser, or equivalent recognised tax qualification.7+ years of international tax experience, ideally post-qualification.Experience with multi-entity international groups and cross-border structures.Good knowledge of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines, BEPS, and Pillar Two.Practical experience with double tax treaties, withholding tax, permanent establishment, and economic substance matters.Hands-on VAT experience in at least two of the following: EU, UK, or UAE.Experience coordinating external tax advisers across multiple jurisdictions.Strong written and spoken English.Ability to work independently and manage several tax workstreams.Preferred BackgroundIn-house or advisory experience in fintech, payments, financial services, digital assets, or another regulated international business.Experience with transfer pricing, technology licensing, or financial services VAT.Familiarity with Cyprus, UAE, UK, Mauritius, Seychelles, or similar international structures.Exposure to regulated environments such as CySEC, FCA, VARA, DFSA, or FSC.Knowledge of economic substance requirements, crypto taxation, or FATCA/CRS.What the Role OffersBroad exposure to international tax matters within a global fintech group.Direct collaboration with legal, finance, and senior management.Opportunity to expand into wider in-house tax ownership.High level of autonomy.Long-term remote B2B cooperation.
