We are looking for an accomplished Functional Safety Architect / Technical Lead with deep expertise in ISO 26262, SoC/FPGA architecture, and automotive semiconductor safety compliance to drive safety activities for complex IP and full-chip programs.This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of automotive innovation, collaborating with global customers and cross-functional engineering teams to develop safety-critical semiconductor products that meet the highest industry standards.Key ResponsibilitiesFunctional Safety Architecture & RequirementsDefine and develop Functional Safety concepts for complex semiconductor products and SoCs.Derive, analyze, and allocate safety requirements across IP, subsystem, and chip-level architectures.Define Technical Safety Concepts (TSC) and implement appropriate hardware safety mechanisms.Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 safety requirements throughout the product development lifecycle. Safety Analysis & Verification Perform detailed safety analysis at both IP and full-chip levels.Lead and execute:Design FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)FMEDA (Failure Modes, Effects and Diagnostic Analysis)Safety architecture assessmentsSingle Point Fault Metric (SPFM) analysisLatent Fault Metric (LFM) analysisDependent Failure Analysis (DFA)Drive fault injection campaigns and sign-off activities.Analyze diagnostic coverage and validate safety mechanisms. Architecture & Design Review Review SoC architecture from a Functional Safety perspective.Evaluate ARM/RISC-V processor subsystems, NoC architecture, AXI/APB interfaces, and associated safety requirements.Conduct detailed design analysis and I3 conformance reviews for ASIL-D compliant designs.Collaborate with architecture, RTL, verification, firmware, and validation teams to close safety gaps. Tools, Traceability & Compliance Establish and maintain end-to-end safety requirement traceability using tools such as:JAMAIBM DOORSEquivalent requirement management platformsUtilize industry-standard EDA safety tools from Synopsys or Siemens (Mentor) for safety analysis and reporting.Ensure completeness and quality of all Functional Safety work products. Audit & Customer Engagement Independently lead Functional Safety audits and assessments.Support internal and external ISO 26262 compliance reviews.Develop and maintain Safety Manuals and associated safety documentation.Present safety analyses, findings, and work products to customers, assessors, and auditors.Defend Functional Safety processes, methodologies, and compliance evidence during customer reviews. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Provide technical leadership and mentoring to Functional Safety teams.Drive collaboration across global engineering organizations.Influence stakeholders and champion Functional Safety best practices.Support customer process improvement initiatives and safety compliance strategies.Required QualificationsEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related field. Experience 12+ years of experience in FPGA, ASIC, or SoC architecture, design, integration, or implementation.Significant experience in automotive semiconductor Functional Safety engineering.
