System Engineer

System Engineer CMC is supporting an on-site Systems Engineer assignment within the Swedish defence sector. This role will lead the technical development of a secure launch terminal, taking ownership of system architecture, requirements management, integration, verification and safety engineering throughout the full product lifecycle. Working within a highly regulated environment, you will ensure the system meets stringent military standards, operational reliability requirements, and safety-critical performance expectations while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. Day to Day:Leading the system design and technical architecture of a secure launch terminal from concept through to verification and delivery.Capturing, analysing and translating customer and operational requirements into Level 1 and Level 2 system requirements and technical specifications.Defining and managing hardware, software and communication interfaces, producing and maintaining Interface Control Documents (ICDs).Driving systems integration activities across hardware, software and external communication networks to ensure seamless interoperability.Developing and implementing functional safety concepts, including redundancy strategies and safe-and-arm logic to prevent unintended activation.Performing technical risk assessments using methodologies such as FMEA and supporting mitigation planning throughout the development lifecycle.Developing verification and validation strategies, including test planning, integration activities and acceptance testing.Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure compliance with military standards, customer requirements and programme milestones. Requirements:Proven experience as a Systems Engineer within defence, aerospace or other safety-critical industries.Strong background in systems engineering, including requirements management, system architecture and technical documentation.Experience producing and managing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and defining complex hardware and software interfaces.Experience performing safety engineering activities, including redundancy design, safety analysis and risk mitigation.Knowledge of Verification & Validation (V&V) planning, systems integration and qualification testing.Experience using structured risk management methodologies such as FMEA or equivalent.Swedish citizenship
