Veterinary Lab Technician / Specialist – Microbiology Unit

Job Title: Veterinary Lab Technician / Specialist – Microbiology UnitLocation: OmanReports To: Laboratory & Poultry Health Manager Primary FunctionResponsible for performing all required microbiology tests and submitting accurate, timely results in line with international laboratory standards. Key Responsibilities

• Collect bacteriology samples and swabs in a safe and sanitary manner • Receive, label, and organize collected samples for testing • Clean and maintain the working area and lab equipment • Perform all required tests using validated methods, including: • Salmonella Isolation Protocol • Fungal Isolation Test • Chick Quality Test • Sanitation Evaluation Test • Ensure all testing is conducted per ISO international standards • Report accurate results within required timelines • Use relevant lab software/programs for testing and reporting • Operate all equipment required for the role safely and correctly • Follow biohazard disposal procedures as per standard protocols • Adhere to biosecurity, health, and safety regulations at all times • Maintain strong communication and teamwork within the lab team • Follow instructions and standard procedures strictly • Remain flexible with changing priorities and work demands • Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the role

• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences or a related field • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Poultry Laboratory (Microbiology)
