2D Animator
Join an exciting film project chronicling the history of big bands, featuring world-renowned jazz musicians and destined for international distribution with subtitles in 14 languages. This role offers the opportunity to bring the vibrant era of big band music to life through engaging 2D animation, supporting a documentary that celebrates musical heritage and artistry. The animator will collaborate closely with the production team to visually interpret key moments, performances, and historical narratives, ensuring the animation enhances the storytelling and resonates with a global audience.
Responsibilities
Create original 2D animation sequences that illustrate historical events, musical performances, and key figures in big band history Collaborate with the director and production team to develop visual concepts and storyboards Integrate animation seamlessly with live-action footage and archival materials Adapt animation style to suit the tone and period of the film Revise and refine animations based on feedback from the creative team Prepare final animation assets for post-production and international subtitling
Skills And Requirements
Proficiency in 2D animation software such as Adobe After Effects, Toon Boom, or similar tools Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling and character animation skills Ability to interpret historical and musical themes visually Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality output Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines Interest in music, especially jazz or big band genres, is a plus Availability for remote collaboration; flexible schedule to accommodate project milestones
