Freelance Video Editor

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented video editor passionate about gaming content and YouTube optimization. You will be responsible for transforming long-form Geometry Dash livestreams into engaging, concise videos tailored for YouTube audiences. Each stream, typically 2–4 hours in length, will be edited into 1–3 focused videos based on provided concepts. The goal is to remove unrelated discussions, highlight key gameplay moments, and ensure each video aligns with YouTube best practices for viewer retention and discoverability. Timely delivery is essential, with a three-day turnaround required for each set of videos.

Deliverables

Edit 2–4 hour Geometry Dash livestream VODs into 1–3 concise, engaging videos per stream. Remove off-topic discussions and ensure each edit is focused on the assigned video idea. Incorporate provided creative direction and feedback for each video. Optimize videos for YouTube, including pacing, thumbnail suggestions, and retention strategies. Deliver completed edits within three days of receiving the stream footage.

Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. Strong understanding of YouTube content trends, algorithms, and audience engagement strategies. Ability to identify and highlight entertaining gameplay moments. Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow creative briefs. Reliable time management and commitment to meeting tight deadlines. Familiarity with gaming content, especially Geometry Dash, is a plus. Good communication skills for feedback and revisions. Availability for ongoing, project-based work.
