Lead Microsoft Fabric / Data Platform ArchitectLocation: Finland – Multiple locations | FINNISH SPEAKINGWorking model: Hybrid (minimum 50% office-based) The OpportunityWe’re working with a growing technology and consulting business in Finland that is looking to bring an experienced Data Platform Lead into its team. This is an opportunity for a senior data professional who enjoys being hands-on with technology while also taking ownership of architecture, leading technical delivery and advising clients on their data strategy. You’ll play a key role in designing and delivering modern data platforms, primarily built around Microsoft Fabric and Azure, while also working with technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake and dbt. Rather than being limited to a purely architectural or management position, you’ll remain technically involved throughout the project lifecycle, from initial solution design through to implementation and production. The RoleAs the technical lead on data platform projects, you’ll be responsible for shaping architecture, making key technical decisions and ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and aligned with business requirements.You’ll work closely with clients to understand their existing data environments, identify opportunities for improvement and translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions. Your responsibilities will include:Leading the design and implementation of end-to-end data platform architectures, covering ingestion, transformation, storage, data modelling and analytics.Driving Microsoft Fabric and Azure-based solutions, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Factory and Synapse Data Engineering.Evaluating and integrating technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake and dbt, selecting the right tools based on each client's requirements.Taking ownership of technical delivery, establishing engineering standards and ensuring best practices across projects.Working directly with clients, leading technical workshops, advising on architecture and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.Remaining hands-on with development, troubleshooting and complex technical challenges where needed.Supporting and mentoring data engineers and BI developers through technical guidance, code reviews and knowledge sharing.Helping develop the wider data and technology practice, contributing to its technical direction and ways of working. What We’re Looking ForWe’re interested in speaking with experienced Data Engineers, Data Architects and Data Platform Leads who have a strong technical background and are ready to take on greater architectural and client-facing responsibility. You should ideally have:Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and the wider Azure data ecosystem.Proven experience designing and delivering complex, end-to-end data platforms.Experience with at least two of the following: Databricks, dbt and Snowflake.Strong knowledge of SQL, Python and PySpark, alongside data modelling and modern data engineering practices.Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure automation, data governance and platform operations.The ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Previous experience taking technical ownership of projects, leading delivery or mentoring other engineers.Fluent Finnish and professional working proficiency in English.
