With several major projects already underway and three significant projects starting with large Finnish cities and public-sector organisations, this is an opportunity to join a growing team at an exciting time for the business. Microsoft Fabric is at the heart of its current data technology stack, and the business is looking for someone with strong technical expertise who can take ownership of projects, work directly with customers and help deliver modern data solutions. You’ll be joining an established technology consultancy with expertise across Data, AI, Software Development, QA, Design and Cybersecurity, giving you the opportunity to collaborate with specialists across multiple disciplines. The roleAs a Senior Data Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing and delivering modern data platforms and solutions for a range of customers. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from understanding customer requirements and designing technical solutions to implementation and delivery. The business primarily focuses on end-to-end project delivery, meaning you’ll be part of a collaborative team while also having the autonomy to take responsibility for your own work. Some projects involve larger delivery teams, while others require one or two specialists working closely with the customer. You should therefore be comfortable operating independently, making technical decisions and taking ownership of delivery. Key responsibilitiesDesign, develop and implement modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.Build and maintain scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions.Work extensively with SQL and cloud-based data technologies.Contribute to end-to-end data engineering projects, from initial requirements through to implementation.Work directly with customers to understand their business needs and translate them into technical solutions.Take ownership of technical delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, reliable and maintainable.Collaborate with Data Architects, Software Engineers and other technical specialists.Contribute to technical decision-making and support the continued development of the Data & AI function.Share knowledge and support colleagues while helping develop internal technical capabilities. What we're looking forSeveral years of experience working as a Data Engineer or in a similar senior technical role.Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including modern data platform development.Strong SQL skills and experience building complex data solutions.Experience with cloud-based data architecture, data pipelines and data integration.The ability to work independently, take initiative and manage your own workload.Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers.A proactive approach to problem-solving and technical delivery.The ability to work effectively in a consulting environment.Professional fluency in Finnish.Experience with Databricks would be an advantage, particularly as the business expects demand for this technology to grow through upcoming customer tenders.
