Mechanical Design Engineer

At WeQuel, we are now looking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer in Södertälje, where you will become an important part of a team working with advanced engineering and concept vehicles, with a focus on early-phase development and concept work. You will work with new technologies such as electrification, hydrogen, and e-Mining, in fast-paced projects that require close collaboration with R&D, Production, and other internal stakeholders.

Concept development and early-phase design of advanced vehiclesCreation of 3D models and concept-level drawings in Catia V5Development of technical solutions within cooling systems, braking systems, steering, and battery installationsCollaboration with R&D, Production, and cross-functional stakeholdersVehicle layout work and design feasibility assuranceFEM calculations to validate design conceptsDelivery of design work at "good enough" concept level within tight timelinesContinuous development and improvement of technical solutions

You work in a dynamic environment with a high degree of uncertainty, where flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing conditions are key, while independently driving your work forward and collaborating across several interfaces within the organization.

Minimum 7 years of experience within mechanical design or a related fieldFluent in English, spoken and written; knowledge of Swedish is meritoriousProven experience with Catia V5 (3D)Good knowledge of Enovia or similar PLM systemsExperience designing BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) solutionsUnderstanding of vehicle layout and system integrationExperience within cooling systems, braking systems, steering, or battery components is highly meritoriousKnowledge of FEM calculations for design validationFlexible and solution-oriented, comfortable working in environments with a high level of uncertaintyStrong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to take ownership of your deliverables
