Procurement Business Partner, Hydro

Position Fortum is looking for an experienced Procurement Business Partner to join its Procurement Business Partnering team and support the Hydro generation business. This is a hands-on and business-facing role where you will act as the primary procurement contact for the Hydro business, working closely with asset, project and procurement stakeholders. You will ensure that procurement needs are identified early, structured effectively and translated into clear and executable procurement activities. You will take ownership of the procurement scope across the full lifecycle – from early demand identification and planning through sourcing and contracting to execution and supplier performance. A key part of the role is turning business plans and upcoming projects into structured procurement actions while ensuring alignment between the Hydro business and the wider procurement organisation. The position can be based at any of Fortum’s Hydro offices in Sweden: Solna, Karlstad, Borlänge, or Östersund. Responsibilities Acting as the primary procurement contact and business partner for the Hydro organisation.Building strong relationships with asset, project and other key business stakeholders.Ensuring procurement is involved early in project, investment and operational planning.Translating business needs into structured procurement requirements and sourcing pipelines.Maintaining visibility of upcoming procurement demand across the Hydro portfolio.Planning and coordinating procurement activities and sourcing schedules.Ensuring procurement packages are clearly scoped, prioritised and ready for sourcing.Aligning business demand with category strategies, sourcing capacity and procurement priorities.Taking end-to-end ownership from demand identification through sourcing, contracting, execution and supplier performance.Coordinating with Category Management, Strategic Sourcing, PMO, S2P, Supplier Risk and project teams.Supporting and, when required, leading procurement activities within selected projects.Monitoring procurement readiness, cost development, risks, dependencies and benefits.Ensuring compliance with procurement governance, policies and supplier risk processes.Acting as a first point of contact for procurement-related issues, claims and complex cases.Identifying opportunities to improve procurement processes and ways of working. Background & Requirements 5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement, project procurement, project management or a comparable role.Experience working in complex and project-driven environments.Experience in portfolio planning and coordinating multiple simultaneous procurement or project requirements.Strong stakeholder management, coordination and prioritisation capabilities.Ability to take ownership and drive activities across organisational and functional boundaries.Experience from capital-intensive environments such as energy, utilities, infrastructure or industrial projects is considered highly relevant.Fluent English and Swedish; Finnish language skills are considered an advantage.
