Senior Data Engineer

We are hiring a Senior Data Engineer for a 6–12 month onsite assignment in Gothenburg, Sweden, with a leading global IT services company working for a major automotive client. About the roleYou will build and maintain data products and pipelines, with a strong focus on data quality, reliability, privacy compliance and high system uptime, supporting data-driven insights and decision-making. Key responsibilities- Build, run and improve data pipelines through automation, scalability and performance enhancements- Ensure data quality, accuracy and reliability across all data solutions- Monitor pipeline performance and quickly resolve issues to minimise downtime- Implement testing, validation and monitoring processes- Work with privacy, legal and security teams to ensure data is handled according to regulations- Collaborate with analytics, product and engineering teams to deliver business-ready datasets- Maintain clear documentation of data flows, architectures and privacy processes Requirements- 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with large-scale or sensor-based data- Strong SQL and at least one of Python, Scala or Java- Hands-on experience building and managing ETL/ELT pipelines on Azure, AWS or GCP- Understanding of data privacy principles and experience delivering compliant data solutions- Strong focus on data quality, monitoring and operational reliability Nice to have- GDPR and data governance experience- Airflow, Databricks or Grafana- Kafka or other streaming technologies Assignment details- Location: Gothenburg, Sweden (onsite)- Duration: 6–12 months- Start: Immediate- Employment: contract on Ampstek payroll Work authorisationApplicants must hold Swedish citizenship or a Swedish permanent residence permit (PUT).
