Job Overview
The Senior Superintendent Civil position demands a comprehensive understanding of civil discipline principles, leadership in workforce management, and familiarity with a broad range of disciplines including compliance, risk management, and logistics. The Senior Superintendent Civil must leverage extensive industry experience to enhance productivity, mentor others, influence company-wide processes and policies for workforce management, and resolve multifaceted technical, operational, and organizational issues that affect project delivery and success.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Manage construction scopes from tender award through to commissioning and handoverLead and drive contractor performance across safety, quality, cost, and scheduleCoordinate multiple trades, systems, and interfaces on a complex industrial projectReview and challenge construction methodologies, schedules, and execution plansSupport technical bid evaluations and contractor selectionLead constructability reviews and identify opportunities to improve project outcomesWork closely with engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning teamsUse 3D models and drawings to plan work, resolve issues, and validate construction approachesIdentify problems early and develop practical solutions before escalating
Essential Qualifications and Education
Strong industrial construction experience, particularly structural steelProven capability across civils, concrete structures, and architectural worksExperience delivering complex EPC/EPCM projects with multiple contractors and interfacesStrong understanding of construction sequencing, methodology development, and constructabilityAble to confidently navigate models, drawings, and project documentation without relying on others to find informationA collaborative, curious, and calm leader who works well within a team of strong personalitiesAmbitious, proactive, and comfortable working with minimal directionTakes ownership, drives actions, and focuses on solutions rather than problems
