Role Summary

The Strategic Assurance and Governance Advisor is a key enabler of robust governance, and strategic risk management practices across the Scania Commercial organization.

This role is responsible for identifying strategic commercial risks to Scania's Commercial Strategy and Operating Model by guiding, challenging, and ensuring leaders include risk mitigation and management in business planning processes, while providing legal expertise and strategic assurance during the transition to a fully integrated model.

Job Responsibilities

Empower and coach business managers and process owners to take responsibility for governance and strategic risks in their areas. Support the design, implementation and continuous improvement of governance structures and frameworks, while ensuring clear ownership within line and central functions Act as a sounding board and advisor for complex or novel governance issues, especially those with legal implications. Interpret and communicate relevant laws, regulations, and standards, ensuring the Commercial Organisations management understands its obligations.Provide guidance on policies and strategic risk mitigation strategies. Monitor regulatory changes and proactively inform stakeholders of impacts. Challenge senior management and teams to ensure strategic risks are understood, documented, and managed. Maintain an independent, objective perspective—acting as a critical friend to the business. Escalate unresolved or systemic issues to senior management as needed.

Who You Are

Minimum 5 years of experience in Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, Internal Control, or related advisory roles.Proven experience advising senior leaders and management teams on governance, risk, or compliance topics.Strong understanding of corporate governance principles, risk management frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements.Demonstrated ability to challenge, influence, and coach stakeholders at different organizational levels.Experience developing, implementing, or improving governance and risk management systems, frameworks, or processes.Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex business situations and identify risks and mitigation actions.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal or regulatory requirements into practical business guidance.Proven stakeholder management skills and ability to build credibility across functions and seniority levels.Ability to maintain an independent and objective perspective while acting as a trusted advisor to the business.Experience working in an international and cross-functional environment.Knowledge of automotive, industrial, manufacturing, or transport-related regulatory environments.

Requirements education

Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Risk Management, Public Administration, Corporate Governance, Finance, or a related field
