Role DescriptionWe're hiring a Data Engineer to join a leading European data and AI consultancy building an analytical data platform on Azure Databricks for a German insurer. The first phase delivers sales reporting and campaign management for a new pension product, with customer and broker data from multiple systems merged and cleansed to power Power BI reporting. Go-live is January 2027, followed by stabilisation until the end of March. What You'll DoImplement data loading routes and transformations in Databricks to the lead engineer's specificationsBuild data quality rules and matching logic for duplicate detection across customer and broker dataCreate selections and standardised data exports for the CRMWrite unit tests and support technical documentationHelp transfer Databricks knowledge to the client's internal team What We're Looking For3+ years of data engineering experience, including hands-on Databricks project workStrong PySpark and SQL skillsExperience with Delta Lake and Git-based workflowsFluent in written and spoken EnglishNice to have: Databricks certification, Azure experience, German Why This RoleYou'll play a hands-on part in taking a greenfield Databricks platform live in the finance and insurance sector, working alongside experienced data consultants and shaping how the client's team adopts the platform.
