Mechanical QAQC Engineer
PE Global Recruitment are currently working with one of Europe's leading Data Centre delivery partners to recruit a Mechanical QAQC Engineer to join the team in Finland. This is a full time, permanent role, based in Helsinki. The RoleAs QA/QC Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing the quality of mechanical works throughout the project lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include:Implementing and maintaining the project Mechanical QA/QC procedures and Quality Plan.Reviewing mechanical drawings, specifications, method statements, ITPs, and technical submissions.Inspecting mechanical installations to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements.Coordinating inspections and testing activities with subcontractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.Managing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, inspection reports, and test documentation.Identifying, recording, and driving the close-out of non-conformances and quality issues.Monitoring the quality of mechanical installation works, including HVAC, chilled water, pipework, pumps, valves, tanks, drainage, and associated mechanical plant.Reviewing materials and equipment to ensure compliance with approved specifications and documentation.Supporting mechanical testing and commissioning activities.Preparing and reviewing mechanical test packs and handover documentation.Supporting the completion of as-built information, O&M documentation, and final project quality records.Carrying out regular quality inspections, audits, and site walks.Working closely with subcontractors to promote a right-first-time approach to installation and quality.Providing technical support and guidance on quality-related matters across the project. What We’re Looking ForA degree or recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.Proven experience in a QA/QC Mechanical Engineer or similar position within the construction or engineering industry.Experience delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, data centre, or other mission-critical projects.Strong knowledge of mechanical installation, inspection, testing, and quality requirements.Experience with ITPs, NCRs, test packs, inspection records, and quality documentation.Experience with large-scale HVAC and mechanical services installations.A good understanding of mechanical testing and commissioning processes.The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, schematics, and technical documentation.Experience working with mechanical subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and specialist vendors.Excellent attention to detail with a structured and methodical approach to quality.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across a multidisciplinary team.Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced construction environment.Experience with BIM and digital construction/quality management systems would be advantageous.
