Pricing Manager
My client is currently looking for an interim Pricing and Tendering Manager to lead day-to-day pricing and tendering activity while helping transform how the function works. The organisation has systems in place, but the next stage of process and technology improvement has yet to begin. This role will suit someone who can keep the operation running well while identifying where automation and AI can make it more effective. You will manage pricing and tendering work, mentor an analyst, and work with colleagues across the business to improve the tools, processes and governance that support the function. We are particularly interested in someone who has already introduced AI into pricing or tendering workflows and understands how to govern its use, including oversight, quality control and accountability for decisions. Key responsibilities Lead operational pricing and tendering activity, ensuring submissions are accurate, timely and commercially sound.Manage and mentor the pricing analyst, providing clear priorities, support and feedback.Review existing pricing and tendering systems and identify opportunities to simplify work and automate repeatable tasks.Help shape and deliver the function’s transformation, from assessing current processes through to implementing practical improvements.Establish appropriate governance for AI-supported workflows, with clear human review and control over outputs and decisions.Collaborate with commercial, finance and other stakeholders to make improvements that work across the organisation. What we are looking for Strong hands-on experience in pricing and tendering, with the ability to lead the operation as well as improve it.Experience implementing AI within pricing or tendering, rather than simply using AI tools.A sound understanding of how to govern AI-supported processes and manage their risks.Experience with pricing and tendering systems, process improvement and automation.The ability to mentor an analyst and work collaboratively through change.This is a transforming organisation, so the successful person will be comfortable working in an environment where processes are still evolving. They will bring people with them, listen to different perspectives and turn ideas into workable changes. Location: UK preferred, with remote working considered. France or other locations may also be possible, subject to confirmation.
