SW Verification Engineer – Automotive

Location: Gothenburg, Sweden - on-siteStart date: 1 October 2026Project duration: until 31 May 2027Only Freelancer Design Consulting is looking for an experienced SW Verification Engineer to support the functional verification of complete vehicle electrical systems before software releases.You will join an automotive integration testing team in Sweden and collaborate closely with international software and hardware development teams. Key responsibilities:Execute directed and exploratory vehicle-level test casesAnalyse test results and debug software failuresDevelop and update functional verification methodsMaintain and update test environments and test vehiclesInvestigate issues affecting complete electrical systemsCollaborate with software developers, hardware engineers and test leaders to resolve vehicle-level issuesWork closely with international engineering teams, including colleagues in Asia Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a comparable fieldAt least 3 years of experience in automotive embedded-system integrationHands-on experience with vehicle integration and functional testingExperience executing and analysing tests directly on vehiclesKnowledge of Vector tools, particularly CANoe or CANalyzerExperience with JiraStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsFluent English, written and spokenDriving licence valid in SwedenInterest in vehicles and confidence performing driving-based testsStrong communication skills and the ability to motivate and influence othersAbility to work effectively in an international and multicultural environment Travel requirements:Approximately two one-week business trips within Europe per yearApproximately one business trip to Asia per year Interested candidates can apply by sending an updated CV and indicating their earliest availability.
