UX Designer

UX Designer – Shopify Store Build Remote | Freelance | Part-time | 4 weeks We’re looking for an experienced UX Designer to lead the UX for a custom Shopify store rebuild for a DTC health and wellness brand.This is a hands-on role covering the full UX process - from auditing the existing customer journey and identifying conversion friction through to creating detailed, developer-ready wireframes and prototypes in Figma. You’ll be working closely with the developer to make sure designs are clear, considered and ready to build, with a particular focus on mobile UX, conversion and the customer journey from product discovery through to purchase and subscription. What you'll be doing:Auditing the existing Shopify store to identify friction across key customer journeys, particularly PDPs, cart and checkoutReviewing user research and competitor experiences across DTC health, wellness and eCommerceDesigning information architecture and user flows across browsing, product purchase and subscription journeysCreating detailed wireframes and clickable prototypes in FigmaProducing developer-ready specifications covering areas such as spacing, states, responsive behaviour and device breakpointsDesigning responsive, mobile-first experiences with conversion at the forefrontRecommending UX improvements including trust signals, social proof, personalisation and streamlined checkout experiencesWorking closely with the developer throughout implementation to ensure the final build reflects the designsReviewing the experience post-deployment and identifying any required UX improvements What you'll bring:Strong experience designing eCommerce and DTC websites, ideally within health, wellness or a similar consumer sectorHands-on Shopify UX experienceStrong Figma skills, including wireframing and interactive prototypingA portfolio demonstrating your end-to-end UX process, from research and user journeys through to wireframes and final prototypesExperience designing websites where your work has delivered measurable improvements in conversion, engagement, revenue or retentionStrong understanding of eCommerce conversion principles and mobile-first UXExperience creating highly detailed designs and specifications that developers can implement with minimal back-and-forth If you’re a UX Designer who understands both how people shop and what makes them convert - and can translate that into a beautifully considered, developer-ready Shopify experience - we’d love to hear from you!
