ETL Developer – GCP / Big DataLocation: EU - RemoteContract:Freelance About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced ETL Developer to join our data engineering team. You’ll work on building scalable data pipelines, processing large datasets, and developing cloud-based data solutions using modern Big Data and GCP technologies.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving technical challenges, and building reliable solutions in a cloud environment.What You’ll DoDesign, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/data pipelines using technologies such as Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.Build processes to extract, transform, and load large volumes of data from different sources.Work with SQL and OLAP databases, including Google BigQuery and Hive.Work with object storage such as Google Cloud Storage, S3, and HDFS.Build and integrate data solutions using messaging services such as Google Pub/Sub, Kafka, SNS, or RabbitMQ.Improve and optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.Use Terraform to automate cloud infrastructure and service provisioning.Troubleshoot data pipeline and processing issues and help ensure smooth day-to-day operations.Work closely with engineering, data, and business teams to deliver high-quality data solutions.What We’re Looking ForExperience in ETL, Data Engineering, or a similar role.Strong experience with Big Data technologies, particularly Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.Good programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or Scala.Strong SQL and database knowledge, with experience in BigQuery, Hive, or similar technologies.Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Hands-on experience with object storage and messaging services.Experience with Terraform and cloud infrastructure automation.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field.Nice to HaveExperience with Docker and Kubernetes.Knowledge of CI/CD and Git.Experience with Cloud Functions.Familiarity with Cloud Build or Jenkins.Understanding of cloud networking.Stronger hands-on experience across GCP data services.This is a critical position, so contact Kai for a confidential chat and more details.kai.withers@empiric.comMOBI: +44 7585275914T: +44 203 6757777W: www.empiric.comEmpiric is one of the fastest-growing technology and transformation recruitment agencys specialising in data, digital, cloud and security.
