Network Architect

Network Architect - €330 per day My client, a large Nordic customer, are looking for someone to join their team for an initial 6 months. This will be working remotely, there would need to be 1 trip to the customer site in Finland at the start of the contract to pick up laptop and do onboarding. Role SummaryOwn the design, architecture, and evolution of the customer's IT network domain — covering network, firewall, proxy, load balancing, and NSX — as well as compute and public cloud network and security across Azure and AWS. This role spans the full stack: classic physical networking, private VMware cloud (NSX), through to public cloud and hybrid connectivity. Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and maintain NSX network virtualization architecture across the SDDC estateOwn Cisco ACI fabric design: tenant/VRF segmentation, EPG structure, bridge domains, leaf/spine topologyArchitect and oversee firewall design, policy, and lifecycle across the network estateArchitect and oversee proxy services as part of the network domainDesign and maintain load balancing architecture (on-prem and cloud, e.g. WAF-fronted LBaaS)Lead large-scale datacenter migration and decommission programs (multi-country, thousands of devices)Public cloud networking: Azure and AWS, including hybrid connectivity back to on-prem and both classic and cloud-native network architecturesExtend architecture ownership into compute, ensuring network/security design aligns with compute platform needsBuild and evolve automation/tooling for network operations and auditing at scaleOperate within and help evolve broader IT network environment, working across teams and contracting layers Required Skills & ExperienceClassic physical networking (routing, switching, datacenter fabric)Deep hands-on expertise with VMware NSX (private cloud networking)Public cloud networking: Azure and AWS, hybrid on-prem connectivityStrong Cisco ACI experience: VRF/tenant segmentation, EPG/bridge domain design, fabric operationsFirewall architecture and operationsProxy architecture and operationsLoad balancer / WAF architecture (on-prem and cloud)Working knowledge of compute platforms and their interaction with network/security designExperience in security is a plus
