The role combines hands-on engineering, architectural input, and technical mentoring, with opportunities to influence how a growing platform evolves.You’ll work on systems that help coordinate renewable generation, energy storage, and flexible electricity consumption. As the business expands into new markets, your focus will be on building a reliable technical foundation that can grow with it. The OpportunityThis role suits an experienced developer who enjoys taking a problem from early discussion through to a working solution. You’ll contribute to backend development, improve existing systems, and help colleagues navigate technical challenges. Your work will include:Building and maintaining backend services with .NET and SQL Server.Designing solutions that support increasing demand and new market requirements.Improving existing code and addressing technical debt.Supporting integrations between connected equipment, data systems, and backend applications.Contributing to infrastructure decisions across Linux and cloud environments.Sharing expertise through mentoring, technical discussions, and collaborative problem-solving. Your BackgroundYou bring solid professional experience with .NET and SQL Server, alongside the judgment to balance immediate delivery needs with long-term maintainability. You should also be comfortable:Taking ownership of technical work and following it through to completion.Explaining design decisions clearly and listening to other perspectives.Helping colleagues develop their skills and confidence.Working collaboratively while managing your own priorities. Experience with Python would be particularly valuable. Familiarity with Azure or another cloud platform, Linux, legacy system improvements, or Kanban would also be useful.
