Project Planner

Reporting to the Planning Manager, the Project Planner will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reviewing project schedules and controls procedures. This role requires strong analytical, technical, and communication skills, with a focus on proactive planning, risk management, and performance tracking to ensure successful project delivery. Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and review detailed master construction programmes and project controls procedures for live projectsPrepare and present progress reviews and reports to senior managementLiaise with key stakeholders to review project progress, identify risks, and support proactive problem-solvingEstablish and manage project schedule resource requirements across all phases — pre-construction, construction, and commissioningCreate and maintain progress reporting tools to monitor the achievement of project goals and milestonesProvide performance updates and variance reports, identifying corrective actions where requiredRepresent the Planning function in client and subcontractor meetings, ensuring clear communication of schedule status and planning issuesSupport account management and business development by building and maintaining long-term client relationshipsTake ownership of assigned projects and assist colleagues on other projects as neededEnsure project planning practices align with company standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related disciplineMinimum 2+ years' relevant experience in the construction industry, preferably within a main contracting environmentExperience working on large-scale projects, ideally within the data centre or high-tech industrial sectorsStrong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and planning processesProficient in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject; experience with BIM / digital construction tools and workflows is highly desirableStrong analytical and logical thinking skills, with a sound understanding of programming techniques and typical production ratesExcellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex planning information clearlyCapable of working to defined, and often challenging, timescalesStrong commercial awareness and understanding of contractual and project management principles
