System Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong Rust development experience to join a small, cross-functional team working on a cutting-edge IT project. The role focuses on modern software development, cloud technologies, containerization, automation, and secure solutions within a highly regulated environment.The position offers a primarily remote working model, with occasional on-site team activities at one of the company’s Swedish offices.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, package, and continuously deploy software solutions using Rust.Work closely with multiple business and technical teams to understand requirements and technical interfaces.Contribute to the design and development of new solutions from initial concept through production.Evaluate and document products and technologies for business use.Implement and package software components and solutions.Develop automated tests and contribute to establishing and improving QA processes.Support FinOps activities and efficient use of cloud resources.Participate in agile development, sprint planning, and incremental delivery.Share technical knowledge and contribute to competence development within the team.Work in accordance with stringent global regulatory and security requirements, including NIST 800-171, NIS2, Cyber Essentials, and other applicable frameworks.Required Skills & Experience4–8 years of professional software development experience.Strong hands-on experience with Rust.Solid understanding of software/application development and modern development practices.Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS and/or Azure; GCP is also beneficial.Experience with containers and Kubernetes.Experience developing applications that operate in cloud/containerized environments.Good understanding of infrastructure and platform technologies.Experience working in regulated environments, such as financial services, healthcare, or similar industries.Strong troubleshooting, debugging, testing, and code-analysis skills.Ability to work effectively in a small, cross-functional and agile team.Good communication skills in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.Preferred / Nice-to-Have SkillsWebAssemblyWebAssembly Component ModelForeign Function Interfaces (FFI)Linux and C ABICryptography, including:SSL/TLSSSHDigital signingGolang / GoJavaC#C++YAML-based container configuration and development toolsOpen-source / FOSS technologiesAutomation and QA frameworksCloud cost management / FinOps
