CMC provides expert engineering solutions internationally across Electronics, Embedded Software, Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing and other advanced engineering disciplines. Join Our Latest Project We are looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Architect to provide technical leadership across the development of complex electronics systems destined for space applications.The assignment will focus on driving hardware architecture, guiding engineering teams, supporting requirements definition, overseeing technical reviews, and ensuring development progresses efficiently from prototype through to flight-ready products. Key Responsibilities Lead the technical direction of electronics development projects.Define and maintain hardware architecture and system requirements.Provide leadership, mentoring and technical guidance to electronics engineers.Drive design reviews, technical decision-making and development planning.Support the transition of products from proof-of-concept through prototyping, testing and production.Ensure technical documentation, requirements and architecture are clearly communicated across the team.Coordinate activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Support verification, validation and qualification activities.Contribute to the development of payload electronics, sensor systems and associated hardware platforms. What We're Looking For 10+ years of experience in electronics development.Minimum 3 years of experience leading engineering teams.Strong analogue and digital electronics design experience.Experience with hardware architecture and requirements management.Proven ability to guide teams and accelerate hardware development programmes.Experience supporting products through the full development lifecycle.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Professional-level English. Desirable Experience Space, aerospace or defence industry experience.Knowledge of space standards and high-reliability electronics.Satellite, payload or sensor system development.
